Hey peeps it’s been a really busy month for me, so for the second blog post I thought that I would write you all a post on how to promote your music the best way in todays digital world.
1. The first thing to do if you already havn’t done it is to set up an email account which is completely free with company’s such as Google and Yahoo so you can send and recieve messages from producers and artists from all over the world.
2. Secondly would be to have a look around the web for social network sites such as myspace, facebook, lastfm, friendstar and many more. These social networks allow you to create your own artist pages, place your songs onto the page for everybody to see around the world. Another good reason for creating these pages is so you can keep all of your fans up to date with what your up to. This method is typically the best way to advertise yourself to the world.
3. Podcasts are a new trend within the digital age giving artists the ability to record dj sets and radio stations or just playlists and edit them any way they wish and then distribute within the web. Podcasts generally are not broadcast live as there is no going back from a mistake.
4. Another way of self promotion within the world of today is to record your bands onto video or as a producer to make a video for your tracks and then post them up onto your own page as well as many other video hosting websites such as the popular Youtube.com. This way the viewer can actually get an image of what you look like or your style of work.
WordPress is a really good site as you can use all 4 of the tips above from advertising yourself, your music and also your videos or if you want you can keep people up to date with regular blog posts
I hope these tips help you all within todays digital world and should give you a bump start to advertising yourself.
If there is any more tips that people can give feel free to leave your comments and i will update it.
