Track Of The Month………

If it’s intelligent Drum ‘n’ Bass your looking for then look no further as the Brookes Brothers cap the end of the summer off with another release on Breakbeat Kaos. As classically trained musicians we’re always guaranteed the utmost quality and here is no different.
The title of the track is ‘Tear You Down’ which gets the dance floor happy each and every time. It’s got that warm summer vibe that is typical of the Brookes Brother’s.

Once the vocal hook and piano stabs are in your head you won’t be able to shake this one for a very long time. Reach for the lazers.

You can buy this track from www.breakbeat.co.uk in Mp3, Wav, Wma or good old vinyl. Well worth putting in the collection that’s for sure.

Well Done guys……….

Drum & Bass Still Going Strong………

It has come to my attention that alot of people seem to think that drum and bass is a southern england thing and thats about as far as it goes. In fact drum and bass is a world wide recognised genre within the music industry. As far back as the late 80’s drum and bass has been around with legal & illegal raves set about in the countrysides and disused wharehouses. The 90’s was when drum and bass really kicked off with independant record labels being formed by the Dj’s that were playing around the country, which just got bigger and stonger each year with many more labels being formed. In no time at all over the last 20 years drum and bass has conquered many countrys such America, Canada, Germany, Russia, Spain, Greece and many more. My personal opinion is that you see other genres such as Garage, Niche and Techno come and go but drum and bass has always been there in the front of the line for an amazing night and an amazing genre.

There are so many tracks this year that have revolutionised drum and bass so i thought i’d put these two tracks that have smashed the drum and bass scene as far as i’m concerned. The first is called Ladies Night Vip by Demo & Cease and the second is Hurt You by Chase & Status which  are both well worth buying.

Whats your opinion on the subject, i really want to know what you all think. agree or disagree ????

Tips On Promoting In Todays World………

Hey peeps it’s been a really busy month for me, so for the second blog post I thought that I would write you all a post on how to promote your music the best way in todays digital world.

1. The first thing to do if you already havn’t done it is to set up an email account which is completely free with company’s such as Google and Yahoo so you can send and recieve messages from producers and artists from all over the world.

2. Secondly would be to have a look around the web for social network sites such as myspace, facebook, lastfm, friendstar and many more. These social networks allow you to create your own artist pages, place your songs onto the page for everybody to see around the world. Another good reason for creating these pages is so you can keep all of your fans up to date with what your up to. This method is typically the best way to advertise yourself to the world.

3. Podcasts are a new trend within the digital age giving artists the ability to record dj sets and radio stations or just playlists and edit them any way they wish and then distribute within the web. Podcasts generally are not broadcast live as there is no going back from a mistake.

4. Another way of self promotion within the world of today is to record your bands onto video or as a producer to make a video for your tracks and then post them up onto your own page as well as many other video hosting websites such as the popular Youtube.com. This way the viewer can actually get an image of what you look like or your style of work.

WordPress is a really good site as you can use all 4 of the tips above from advertising yourself, your music and also your videos or if you want you can keep people up to date with regular blog posts

I hope these tips help you all within todays digital world and should give you a bump start to advertising yourself.

If there is any more tips that people can give feel free to leave your comments and i will update it.
